    The primary purpose of this role is to manage and control of internal projects for the business, to ensure project completion on time to budget and meeting customer needs.


    • Support Allscripts Solutions Management or other Allscripts Management by providing project management control on key initiatives, usually pertaining to developing and delivering solutions to market or to internal process improvement.
    • Ensure adherence to common processes, such as the Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) process, and the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
    • Work with Project Team to define, estimate & schedule project work to achieve project scope.
    • Provide a platform for communication and relationship management -- engage stakeholders for buy-in, relieve bottlenecks & complexity.
    • Provide performance monitoring, information and reporting; help diagnose root cause of problems.
    • Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner.
    • Ensure teams are taking corrective action as necessary to deliver complete scope, desired quality and timeliness of strategic programs.
    • Keep team apprised via project plans, meetings and discussion minutes of project tasks identified, tasks to be completed, and work not completed.
    • Identify resource needs and competencies
    • Set and communicate team/individual responsibilities
    • Raise concerns timely to leadership regarding mismatch on required project team member's competencies
    • Allocate work load to fully utilize every program team member's talent


    • Experience with Project Management and Scrum Master role for a software development team.
    • Strong knowledge in project management, including all aspects of process development and execution.
    • Experience in handling as well as applying Scrum principles and practices across multiple scrum teams.
    • Scrum Master, PMP and SAFe certification is strongly desired. 
    • Must be able to build/maintain a project plan, scoping of project, risk and issue management, manage resources allocated, measure project progress, determine corrective actions to ensure successful project implementation.
    • Must be able to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines.
    • Experience with Agile and SAFe SDLC.
    • Experience in working with cross-functional as well as distributed teams.
    • Strong programming skills with good understanding of project cycles, software development environments, and source control techniques.
    • Adept at conducting research in project-related issues and products.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, adhering to overall department and company procedures.
    • Good judgment and the ability to come up with solid solutions and recommendations to a wide range of complex problems.
    • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
    • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
    • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
    • Determine and assess need for additional staff and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
    • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
    • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
    • Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
    • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas.
    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
    • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
    • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
    • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
    • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
    • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
